IEU members at Caloundra Christian College have demonstrated the power of collective action after voting no to their employer’s proposed replacement agreement in a recent ballot.
Following the no vote, the employer returned to the bargaining table and presented a revised offer to staff containing several key improvements.
Sunshine Coast Organiser Tahn Donaldson said IEU member solidarity was crucial to achieving the no vote at the initial ballot, which forced the employer to change their position.
