IEU Chapter a case study in improving consultation

2 October, 2024

A determined IEU Chapter has secured better consultation on key employee issues, including enforcing the newly established right to disconnect and a code of conduct for parents.

The Chapter highlighted to their employer the Work Health and Safety Act requirements for them to consult on issues affecting employees’ psychosocial health.

The IEU Chapter Representative at the school said members had decided to focus on improving staff wellbeing in 2024.

“Two areas consistently impacting staff psychosocial health were inappropriate parent emails and contact, as well as staff feeling overworked,” the IEU Chapter Rep said.
