History made with lowest recorded gender pay gap

Equal Pay Day (17 August) 2026 has marked the lowest gender pay gap ever recorded across Australia, according to new data.

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) reports that the national gender pay gap has fallen from 11.5 per cent to 11.3 per cent over the past six months, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data.
