NT member input sought on the effects of violent student behaviour

3 September, 2021

Northern Territory members are invited to participate in a project conducted by Charles Darwin University researchers on the effects of violent student behaviours on teacher wellbeing.

The aim of the research is to contribute to, and better, current teacher development and wellbeing policies, strategies and approaches, particularly for education employers and teachers in the Northern Territory.

No place for violence in any workplace

Unfortunately, many teachers and other school staff are regularly subjected to violence by students.

Lead researcher, Binoy Joseph said that according to a national longitudinal study in Australia, the educators in the Northern Territory increasingly experience the highest level of violence from students (Riley, 2018).
