The establishment of a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Safety Institute by the federal government as part of its broader National AI Plan has been welcomed by Australian Unions for “putting workers at the centre.”
The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) supported the National AI Plan, which outlines the need to protect working people’s rights, wages, conditions and jobs as a central focus in the future rollout of AI technology.
