Restructure and redundancy: everything you need to know

At this time of year, our union unfortunately fields some member queries on how to navigate situations involving restructure and/or redundancy.

A restructure or redundancy can be daunting for those involved and our union is here to support members through the process.

A genuine redundancy exists if an employer no longer requires an employee’s job to be performed due to changes to operational requirements.

IEU-QNT members employed as specialist teachers participated in a union survey examining the challenges, changes and impacts arising from the new curriculum guideline introduced by the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) in 2025.
