Fixed-term contracts – know your rights

The misuse of fixed-term contracts has historically been a major issue in the non-government education sector, locking teachers and school support staff into futures of uncertainty and stress.

Throughout Term 4 each year, our union often fields enquiries from IEU members seeking advice in relation to employment contracts offered by their employer for the year ahead.

It’s a timely reminder for IEU members employed in Queensland Lutheran schools to understand their rights in relation to the use of fixed-term contracts.
