Nationwide laws urgently needed as AI deepfakes rise

Our federal union is calling for nationwide laws to protect members against tech-based harassment following the introduction of such legislation in New South Wales.

IEUA Federal Secretary Brad Hayes said all states and territories in Australia should urgently adopt laws to criminalise the creation and dissemination of sexually explicit deepfakes, as instances of such harassment continue to rise in school communities.
