IEU members would be aware that two Queensland Lutheran schools have recently been subject to scrutiny and media attention for reportedly mishandling incidents of AI-generated image-based sexual abuse perpetrated by students.
It comes as new data from the Office of eSafety Commissioner shows reports to their image-based abuse scheme about digitally altered intimate images (including deepfakes) from people under the age of 18 have more than doubled in the past 18 months, compared to the total number of reports received in the seven years prior.
