FWC rejects agreement after ineligible workers included in vote

10 February, 2026

The Fair Work Commission has denied the approval of a replacement collective agreement after IEU members at the school identified non-existent and long-departed staff were reportedly included in the voting process.

IEU Industrial Services Officer John Tully said our union was made aware that shortly after the ballot of a proposed agreement for Peregian Beach College in 2025, a number of names of purported employees IEU members had never met, seen or even heard of were included in the ballot.

“Additionally, it was reported that several email addresses were created for these so-called employees on short notice prior to the ballot,” John said.
