Condition critical: care crisis sees 1000s strike

Over 7000 aged care workers have walked off the job in protest at the current federal government’s inaction to address workload and low wages within the aged care sector.

Thousands took the action in protest of the current federal government’s failure fix working conditions which staff say have gone from “terrible to horrifying.”

United Worker’s Union (UWU) Aged Care Director Carolyn Smith said aged care residents and staff alike were fed up with experiencing years of neglect and appalling conditions.
