A group of teacher IEU members gathered in Canberra last month for the National Teacher Workforce Roundtable, ensuring our union’s voice was heard at the highest levels of government.
Convened by the Commonwealth Department of Education and federal Education Minister Jason Clare, the Roundtable sought to address national priorities for the teaching workforce and monitor the progress of the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan (NTWAP) developed in 2022.
IEU-QNT Branch Executive member and delegate at Brisbane’s All Hallows School, Grayson Tyndale, said it was an honour to represent Queensland and Northern Territory members at the discussion.
“The experience of being in the room with national stakeholders was energising, and I did my best to advocate for IEU members from a classroom teacher’s perspective,” Grayson said.
