This year the Labour Day/ May Day weekend will be celebrated on 29 April – 1 May across Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Labour Day (Queensland) and May Day (Northern Territory) are significant in union history.
For IEU members, it is a time to come together to celebrate and remember our achievements as a union since we first formed in 1919.
In particular, May Day this year will have a major focus on the Uluru Statement from the Heart as part of the campaign for a constitutionally recognised Voice to parliament for First Nations Peoples.
