New RAP aims to Close the Industrial Gap

20 February, 2023

Our union’s latest Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has launched following its official endorsement by Reconciliation Australia.

IEU Branch Secretary and caretaker of our union’s RAP Terry Burke said the new RAP builds on previous reconciliation work and the latest iteration will focus on “Closing the Industrial Gap”.

“We commence this RAP in a spirit of sincere hope that we might work with our First Nations members and Elders to ensure that First Nations histories, cultures and perspectives are assigned value in education systems, policies and processes and that those systems, policies and processes are enacted in ways that ensure continuity of the oldest living culture on the planet,” Mr Burke said.
