The action taken by IEU members to secure paid pandemic leave in many of our workplaces has made a crucial difference during this health crisis.
The pandemic has placed significant stress on all school staff, making access to paid leave critical when it comes to some of the exceptional circumstances resulting from health orders.
One of the most recent examples was the border closure between New South Wales and Queensland which left a number of IEU-QNT members, who reside and work in border communities, unable to cross into Queensland for work.
Thanks to the work and advocacy of our union, these members were supported through this difficult time.
