New OECD publication on the impact of AI on equity in education

A recent OECD publication reviewing the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on equity and inclusion in education underscores the crucial role of ethical considerations in balancing the potential benefits of AI and mitigating the risk of exacerbating existing disparities, as IEU-QNT Research Officer Adele Schmidt writes.   
 
Our union’s advice to members is clear: teachers should be the ones to decide how and when AI is used in their classrooms. This empowers educators and ensures that AI is used in a way that best serves the needs of their students. 
 
The proliferation of regulated and unregulated AI tools in education settings is a significant challenge to traditional education models and has numerous potential benefits.
