Risk assessments are becoming a day-to-day part of any modern school and should be considered vital in protecting the health and wellbeing both students and members in their workplace.
While risk assessments are most visible when looking at the planning of excursions, they also have a role to play in regular classroom settings including managing high needs students or maintaining a safe space in practical classes.
When done well, risk assessments can support an excursion that is memorable for the right reasons and make all participants feel safe in the classroom.
