Australia’s eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant has urged schools to report deepfakes and incidents of AI-generated image-based abuse to the appropriate authorities.
It comes as the rapid proliferation of ‘nudify’ apps takes a growing toll on school communities.
To combat the threat of AI-generated abuse in classrooms, eSafety has released a new Toolkit for Schools, including a step-by-step guide outlining best practice for responding to deepfake incidents.
