New P-10 Curriculum Guideline released

12 June, 2025

A new P-10 Curriculum Guideline for non-state schools has been released following consultation with sector stakeholders, including our union.

Revision of the current guideline was triggered by an earlier independent review into the Queensland non-state schools accreditation framework.

That review recommended the existing “educational program” accreditation standard be amended to better align with requirements of the Australian Curriculum.

Guideline goals

The new guideline was co-authored by the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) and the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and aims to:

  • provide clear, consistent guidance about what is required of schools under the educational program accreditation standard; and
  • support schools and governing bodies to achieve and maintain compliance with the guidelines.
