Child safeguarding grants program launched in Queensland

IEU members should be aware that new state government grants for funding of up to $90,000 are available to help eligible Queensland organisations that work with children to comply with new laws and become child safe.

Community kindergartens and early childhood education centres are eligible to apply for the grants.

The new Child Safe Organisations legislation, passed in Queensland Parliament in September 2024, applies to over 40,000 organisations in Queensland and will begin coming into effect from 1 October 2025.
