ONLINE SESSION

In 2025, the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (NSSAB) released a new Guideline for educational programs for non-State schools.

While this document enhances flexibility for schools in terms of the educational program they offer to students, Specialist Teacher members have reported that some employers are using the new guidelines as justification for the cessation or reduction of specialist Language, Arts and Music programs, resulting in loss of hours, or complete loss of employment for Specialist Teachers.

To gauge the extent of the problem, and gather data that can be used in negotiations with employers, the IEU-QNT Education Committee is asking Specialist Teachers to share their experiences since the introduction of the new Guideline.

DATA COLLECTED VIA SURVEY during the forum will be used to inform further negotiation with employers.  You do not have to attend the forum to complete the SURVEY. The survey will close on Wednesday 18 March 2026
