The IEU-QNT Mentoring Program offers support to early career teacher members (in their first five years of practice) who may not have access to quality mentoring at the school-level.

The program connects mentees with trained mentors, who are also IEU-QNT members, and supports them to build a mentoring partnership.

Intake and matching for the Mentoring Program occurs every two years. The next round will take place in 2027.

Members may enquire about joining the program outside of the biennial intake using the contact details included below.

The Mentoring Program was established in 2018 as an initiative of the IEU-QNT Education Committee.

IEU-QNT member Clare has the dual experience of participating in the program as a mentee in 2018, before returning to the program as a mentor in 2025.

Clare highlighted the benefits of quality mentoring for a supportive start in the profession, fostering professional growth and sharing collective wisdom.

“My experience as a mentee was brilliant,” Clare said.

“The process was easy and conversational.

“I could ask questions, relate experiences and seek feedback in a confidential and supportive environment.

“It meant I could learn from my experiences, be supported and challenged in how I reflected on my teaching and ultimately helped me determine my career path into leadership with confidence,” she said.
