Union members across Queensland and the Northern Territory will rally in their thousands during Labour Day and May Day celebrations over the long weekend 29 April – 1 May.

This year, members will share their support for a successful referendum on a Voice to Parliament for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

IEU-QNT Branch Secretary Terry Burke said union members had heeded First Nations people’s call to support the YES campaign.

“Epitomised by the generous and gracious Uluru Statement from the Heart in 2017, First Nations People have invited all Australians to walk on the journey with them as a nation towards Voice, Treaty and Truth,” Mr Burke said.
