Toowoomba members show the way on workload

6 February, 2024

IEU members working in Toowoomba Catholic primary schools are leading by example to make use of important new provisions to tackle workload.

Darling Downs IEU Organiser Matt Kliese said it was impressive local Chapters were proactively preparing to establish the Local Consultative Committees (LCC), a key mechanism for tackling workload and work intensification which members won as part of the new collective agreements.

“Members in these active union Chapters know the new Consultative Arrangements provision is a powerful and enforceable means of improving working conditions and protecting workers’ rights at a site level,” Matt said.
