The superannuation balances of thousands of vulnerable workers will receive a much-needed boost following the abolition of the $450 super threshold.
This means any IEU-QNT members earning less than $450 per month from a single employer will soon receive super payments on top of their ordinary earnings.
The move follows a lengthy union campaign urging the government to remove the threshold.
From 1 July 2022, employers are required to make superannuation payments on all eligible earnings regardless of the amount earned.
