Shortened ITE courses won’t fix a retention problem

Attempts to drastically shorten ITE programs and send people into classrooms before they are prepared raise significant concerns for our union.

IEU-QNT Branch Secretary Terry Burke said the recent NSW government announcement that ‘aspiring teachers in NSW will soon be able to enter the classroom after completing a one-year post-graduate course’,” Mr Burke said.
