Rushed Medicare changes to cost patients

The federal government will introduce a significant overhaul to Medicare rebates from 1 July and expose Australians to unexpected out-of-pocket medical costs.

In the biggest shake-up to Medicare in a decade, more than 900 changes will be made to the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MSB), which affects how treatments and surgeries are funded.
