Queensland Catholic school employers are using the current collective bargaining negotiations to directly attack a critical employee working right held for close to 30 years.
IEU Branch Secretary Terry Burke said such an attack had not been seen in our sector before.
“The employers want to see a reference to “any industrial matter” removed from the disputes settling clause,” he said.
“This provision has existed in the collective agreement since 1995.
“It’s a foundational protection for employees in the face of egregious employer conduct,” he said.
