The Federal Government has announced that employers will pay superannuation on the same day as wages, a move welcomed by our union.
IEU Assistant Secretary Nicole Kapernick said mandating for super to be paid with wages will allow workers to more easily detect when super is underpaid or when employers fail to pay super.
“Like wage theft, failure to pay super is a serious ongoing issue with employers in Australia failing to pay up to $5 billion per year in super to millions of workers,” Nicole said.
