With the Secure Jobs, Better Pay Bill now law, IEU members now have greater opportunity to bargain for better wages, have greater equity in the workplace and start to tackle insecure work.
IEU-QNT Branch Secretary Terry Burke said the passing of the Secure Jobs, Better Pay Bill in December last year was a significant step towards fixing our broken bargaining system.
“The new laws provide millions of working people with greater access to bargaining,” Mr Burke said.
“While the full implementation will take time, we can have hope as a union that we can now work on securing collective agreements where we had these before to provide enhanced working conditions and contemporary wages for all members.
