When floodwaters inundated vast areas of South East Queensland last month thousands of Queenslanders faced devastating impacts.
For IEU members, access to paid natural disaster leave provided crucial support during stressful and challenging circumstances.
As floodwaters rose, travel between IEU member Paul Baker’s home in the hinterland town of Cooran in Gubbi Gubbi country and his workplace in Noosaville became impossible.
Paul said natural disaster leave meant he had “one less issue to worry about” and was able to access paid leave without using up sick leave.
