IEU to advise federal government on school funding reforms

2 May, 2023

The federal Minister for Education, Jason Clare, has announced the members of the National School Reform Agreement (NSRA) Ministerial Reference Group which will include the IEU.

Our union welcomes the opportunity to participate in the Reference Group and play a key role in the development of the NSRA.

IEU Federal Secretary Brad Hayes will join teachers, principals, students, parent organisations, other education unions, and other education stakeholders and experts as part of the Reference Group.

Brad said the NSRA was a joint agreement between the Commonwealth, states and territories designed to elevate student outcomes in Australian schools.

“The current review of the agreement is focused on driving real and measurable improvements for students from disadvantaged backgrounds including regional, rural and remote Australia, First Nations students, students with disability, and students from low-socio-economic backgrounds,” he said.
