IEU support wins permanent jobs

18 July, 2023

The intervention of our union has led to several IEU members being converted from fixed-term to continuing employment status.

IEU-QNT Industrial Services Officer John Tully said from 2021, a number of IEU members at a Queensland Catholic school were hired on fixed-term contracts for specific short-term needs.

“The short-term reasons included short-term staffing for a fixed period or replacing a teacher on leave,” John said.
