Work Health and Safety (WHS) is a powerful organising tool for Union members and Chapters.
Employers have a positive obligation under the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 (NT) to ensure a safe and healthy workplace and consult staff about health and safety. To ensure effective consultation and input on WHS issues, IEU members and other workers have the capacity to form Designated Work Groups, elect Health and Safety Representatives to represent them on health and safety matters, and to form WHS Committees.
This online session will outline the actions you and your IEU Chapter can take to elect Health and Safety Representatives, form WHS Committees and ensure that you have a healthy and safe work environment.
