In April 2023 the NT introduced new WHS regulations requiring employers to have in place mitigation and control measures to manage psychosocial hazards. Whilst the NT does not yet have a specific psychosocial code of practice, existing WHS Management and Consultation Codes of Practice outline practical steps to ensure psychosocial safety at work.
This session will cover:
- Duties Under the WHS Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice
- What are psychosocial hazards?
- How to manage psychosocial risks and hazards
- Relevant matters and identifying foreseeable hazards
- Assessing risks
- Exacerbating and individual factors
- Developing controls (the hierarchy and some specific controls for psychosocial hazards in schools)
