Supervision and mentoring of pre-service teachers is clearly important for the profession. With the negotiation of a new professional experience agreement to commence in 2025, our union is working collaboratively with other stakeholders to develop a document that captures the industrial and professional supports needed by both pre-service teachers and those who take on the mentoring and supervising roles.
We are seeking input from Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers regarding supports and incentives that enable this important work. We will provide some background information on the agreements that currently specify how the work will be carried out, but this is an active consultation session – we want to get your guidance and advice on what is needed.
