Why are IEU-QNT members receiving this message?

As the federal election will impact upon members’ working conditions – as well as our schools and our students – our union considers relevant political issues and policies in members’ best interests.

Why are union members getting involved in the election process?

Our members are committed to helping to fix Australia’s broken workplace laws. We are part of a national campaign to restore fairness to the collective bargaining process and a return to secure jobs.

Workers in all Australian workplaces, including our schools and kindergartens, need access to secure jobs and the opportunity to bargain effectively for better wages and conditions.

Is IEU-QNT affiliated with any political parties?

Our union is not affiliated with any political party.

Members expect our union to lobby for the best outcome for teachers, school officers and services staff.

The federal industrial relations agenda is directly relevant to the working lives of members in our sector.

Where can I find out more about the impact of federal workplace laws?
