Concern over consultation on new Education Bill

10 May, 2024

Our union has lodged a submission to the Education, Employment, Training, and Skills Committee, which is undertaking an inquiry into the Education (General Provisions) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024

IEU-QNT Branch Secretary Terry Burke said our union had expressed support and apprehension regarding various aspects of the bill.

Concerns with process

Mr Burke said one of the key areas of contention our union raised is the consultation process surrounding the bill.

“Allowing stakeholders just 13 working days to review the bill limits our capacity to consult with members,” Mr Burke said.
