Queensland Catholic school employers have shamefully failed to hear members’ concerns and are essentially putting the same document that IEU members first rejected in October to a second ballot.
IEU-QNT Branch Secretary Terry Burke said after employees in nearly 300 Queensland Catholic Diocesan schools rejected an employer-proposed collective agreement at ballot last month, the Diocesan employers should have come back to the negotiating table .
“They did not do so,” he said.
In the five Dioceses (Brisbane, Cairns, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and Townsville), 51 per cent of voters rejected the agreement.
